HWBI
We strive to help navigate the struggles of mental health by working together to overcome any obstacle in the way.
-
The Butterfly Initiative is a Veteran and friends founded, mental health and suicide awareness non profit Organization.
-
We are named in honor of Lcpl Hunter Chase Whitley, a United States Marine from Tuscaloosa, Alabama who served as an automatic rifleman and Scout in 2D LAR (light armored reconnaissance ) during the chaotic withdrawal in Kabul, Afghanistan. We lost Hunter to suicide after he had just shortly gotten out of the corps. This initiative utilizes the spirit of Hunter to help others who need help. Race, religion, nationality nor wealth matters when fighting the battle against suicide or the struggles of mental health.
